Excellent  -  Purchased recently and used three times. Make sure the barbeque is hot and remains that way for the duration. Medium size chicken cooked in 1 hr 15 mins so put plenty of coals on to start with. I buy the cheapo beer, drink half of it, cut the top off the can and then add garlic, ginger etc. Superb!!

Beer can chicken roaster  -  Very handy item if you like your chicken moist. I have a few various beer can chicken roasters but, i really like this one as it has a drip tray and is very easy to clean. I bought two of them and they work very well.

Keep your Chicken Stable  -  Great idea and bought it to make up the difference for free Delivery on some other parts. What a great idea as it is brilliant to use and stops the chicken from falling over.

No more over cooked birds for me from now on!  -  On the advice of the guys at Beds BBQ we included the "Beer Can Chicken Roaster" with our new BBQ, used it as at the first available oportunity with great results, the chicken had a chrispy skin on the outside and very moist inside. Only problem is that it is a little snug for UK std beer cans

"Beer Can Chicken"
Ingredients

The steaming beer keeps the meat moist while the high heat crisps the skin, delivering a perfect bird each time, every time. Barbecue Genius Tip: Make sure that the bird is well balanced before closing lid. Otherwise your bird may tip, spilling the beer. When removing cooked chicken from grill, use oven mits and be careful not to spill contents of beer can as it will be very hot. Let the bird rest 10 minutes before removing can.

1 whole chicken about 4 lb
1 large can beer
2 tbsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
3 tbsp of your favorite dry spice rub
2 tbsp vegetable oil

Directions

Remove neck and giblets. Discard. Rinse chicken inside and out; pat dry with paper towels. Rub chicken lightly with oil then rub inside and out with salt, pepper and dry rub. Set aside.

Preheat barbecue on HIGH.

Open beer can and pour off half of the beer. Place beer can on a solid surface. Grabbing a chicken leg in each hand, plunk the bird cavity over the beer can.

Turn one side of the burner completely off and the other side to MEDIUM. Place the bird-on-a-can on the side that is turned off to use the indirect cooking method. Balance the bird on it`s two legs and the can like a tripod. Make sure it is well balanced before closing the lid.

Cook the bird over MEDIUM indirect heat for aproximately 1 1/4 hours or until the internal temperature reads 170°F in the breast area and 180°F in the thickest part of the thigh.

Carefully remove from grill using oven mits. Let rest for 10 minutes before removing can. Be careful not to spill, contents will be hot. Carve chicken and serve immediately
